Off the Shelf — Support

Off the Shelf (listed on the App Store as “Pile: Off the Shelf”) is a listen-later pile for Spotify: share or paste any Spotify link — song, album, playlist, podcast, episode, or audiobook — and it waits on your shelf until you're ready. Tap a cover to play it in Spotify.

How to add things

From the Spotify app (or anywhere else), tap Share on any song, album, playlist, show, or audiobook and choose Off the Shelf. Or copy a link and use the + button in the app.

Frequently asked

Why don't items show an artist or author name?
The app uses Spotify's public metadata service, which provides the title and cover only. Artist names are on the wishlist for a future version.
An audiobook I shared shows up under Podcasts. Why?
Spotify delivers audiobooks through the same links as podcasts. The app usually detects books automatically; if it can't (for example, when you were offline while sharing), it files the item under Podcasts and corrects it the next time it can check.
A show I saved has the wrong title — it shows an episode name.
That title comes straight from Spotify's metadata service, which returns the latest episode's name for podcast links. The link still opens the right show.
Short spotify.link URLs don't work.
Right now the app understands open.spotify.com links and spotify: URIs. In the Spotify app's share sheet, these are what get shared, so most shares just work.
How do I remove something?
Tap the cover, then Mark as done — or long-press the cover for the same options. Settings → Clear pile starts you fresh.
Where is my data stored?
Only on your device. See the privacy policy — there's no account and no server.
